Sherk Update Dec 30/2022 - December 19-30.

Hi everyone!  This is Sharon providing the blog update as I am feeling well enough at the moment to write for which I am truly thankful to God!  This is day 2 of my 4th chemo treatment.  Normally I feel quite nauseous at this point, but I seem to be having a bit of a reprieve. Thank you for praying for relief from the nausea!  I’ll take the reprieve any day!

We had a wonderful Christmas with lots of visits from family and friends.  Christmas Day was spent with our kids and grandkids at our house…. The highlight was being all together under one roof and I was thankful for all the interactions, the laughter, the hugs, the conversations, the games, opening Christmas presents, watching the grandchildren open their gifts.  It was perfect chaos and I loved every minute of it.

A special thank you to all our kids for making Christmas happen and making it ‘carefree’ for Dean and I. Thanks for decorations inside and out of the house, organizing and preparing food, gift shopping and wrapping and for general clean up.  Thanks for making this day memorable.

I’ve been reading Psalm 30, a poem written by King David many, many years ago about his own journey with a life threatening situation.  There is much hope in his words, his cry for mercy, that I am clinging to…I hope that it will be my story too.

Psalm 30, verses 2 and 3 read:

LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.  You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead: you spared me from going down to the pit.”

If you have a chance, read the entire chapter.

I want to say how much I appreciate each one of you in my life.  I know Dean has expressed thanks to all of you, but I too want you to know how thankful I am for you, and for the many sacrificial ways that you’ve responded to us to help ease our load. You have overwhelmed us with your love and care and we are grateful.  Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

I wish each of you a healthy and hope-filled New Year.  2023 is going to be a good year!

With much love and appreciation,

Sharon for Dean and all the family!

P.S.  Many of you have been asking when we would add dates to the meal train.  We have done so for the months of January and February.  Please see link https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/l6525d if interested. Thanks to all who have provided meals and done special errands for us.  You are a gift!
